Várpalota introduces its program during the pandemic COVID-19

Data and information about defensive operations, giving assistance, realisation of tasks and procurement procedures implemented by the Local Government and institutions of Town Várpalota in connection with COVID-19 pandemic

 

 

 

The Local Government got volunteers and dressmakers to fabricate altogether 21.000 face masks, 350 face shields and 312 protective overalls. Healthcare workers and social workers received these items of protective equipment first.

 

Until 30^th of March 2020 all the residents of Várpalota were supplied with face masks which were put into the letterboxes of the houses and flats.

 

Within the framework of “stay home” campaign elderly residents were informed through loudspeakers about the importance of staying at home, different types of support available for them, tasks related to the allocation of masks, rules of wearing the masks and social distancing. The announcements through loudspeakers installed on cars took place with three cars several times a day from 21^st of March until the end of April. Some volunteers fulfilled 60-100 working hours with their cars in the early evening on workdays, at weekends and on holidays while informing the residents.

 

After introducing digital education, we provided canteen meals (lunch) for pupils of kindergarten age and school children according to the following numbers of children and portions:

The Local Government remitted the rent or reduced it to 31 enterprises for two and a half months from mid-March until 31^st of May.

 

The non-profit Public Service Ltd. of Várpalota carried out the disinfection of street furniture, benches in busy public spaces and playgrounds several times.

 

We provided accommodation for 12 homecoming people during the two-week quarantine.

The Local Government remitted the public land fee of using the terrace to catering units in four cases, for 4-5 months until 31^st of August. Lunch was provided for children coming from families entitled to free meals in the kitchen of Ringató Day Nursery from 24^th of March 2020 until 22^nd of May 2020 (until the full opening).
